Potato - The wonder food

Urulai kizhangu as we call it in Tamil is arguably the most liked vegetable in my place.

I was reading about potato and its origin in wikepedia today and i was amazed when i found out that there are at least 3000 varieties world wide. The impact of potatoes on many cultures is very interesting to read.

Urulai kizhangu is very easy to prepare. Some of the easiest food items that can be made are boiled potatoes, fried potatoes, aloo bindi masala(potato with okra, tomatoes and spices), pepper potatoes, french/curly fries, oven roasted potatoes, cream potatoes. Some of the uncommon varieties of making potatoes are milk potato, potato and eggplant, paneer potato, etc.

Some claim potato can heel acne.

Yoga practitioners say potato to be neutral vegetable and its fit to be taken once in a week as a substitute starch.

I think potatoes were as important in the 15Th century as oil in today's world.
